We often indulge in fantasy pieces, with a touch of drama and theatrical. We've been constantly inspired by the idea of 'koi pond' imagery. We're fascinated by this graceful and elegant creature.
The Koi Pond has particularly storied affinity with Chinese and Japanese cultures, where they are revered for their beauty, and signify luck, prosperity, good fortune and perseverance in the face of adversity. In Chinese legends, the koi fish has the potential to transform into a dragon.
This one of a kind necklace features a handmade polymer clay koi fish cabochon. For this fantasy fish, we selected a very soft colour palette of marble white, lavender, powder pink, jade green and gold. We double varnished it before placing it in its little home - a custom dripping pond, first carved in wax and casted into solid brass. This pendant is finished with a gold cloak and hangs from a handmade sequin chain.
