A little bit about us

Petite Lune Studio was born in Spring 2016 and the mothers are Kat and Juliette.

We met in 2015 working for a really cool East London based jewellery brand. As we got to know each other, we quickly realised we shared a passion for jewellery making and how much we wanted it to be a part of our story as individuals. Both our aesthetics are strongly influenced by arts and craft, literature, the esoteric and occult, nature, nostalgia and whimsy.

We used to work together on Fridays only and this is how our weekly ritual of Jewellery Fridays 💃 started! Back in the day, we would finish work and head to The Fox on Kingsland road (R.I.P.), having jewellery chats and existential revelations, sharing a bottle of wine as well as cheesy chips with gravy. We’ve been so lucky to be able to continue the ritual since 2016 which has allowed us to keep dreaming and making jewellery together and most importantly to keep learning.

Petite Lune Studio is a love letter to femininity, creativity and friendship. We are the Bling Purveyors for the everyday Dreamer, because too much jewellery is never enough (more is more as we like to say!) Our mission is to offer affordable jewellery pieces, handmade with love and gold plated in London to be worn and treasured for years to come.

Hallmarking

The UK has a long history of hallmarking dating back to the 1300s. Edward I passed a statute to ensure that any precious metal objects that were made and sold within Britain were guaranteed to be of a certain purity and quality.

This practice continues today, the Goldsmiths Company Assay Office in London (where we have our pieces hallmarked) is the oldest in the UK and has existed at the same site since 1339.

A Full Traditional UK hallmark consists of five symbols.

1. Sponsor's mark (Maker's Mark)

2. Traditional fineness mark (type of metal)

3. Millesimal fineness mark (quality of the metal)

4. Assay Office mark (a leopard's head for LAO)

5. Date letter mark (unique each year)

FAQs and Services

How can I find out my ring size?

Remember each finger on either hand will be a different size - make sure you measure for the specific finger you envisage wearing your ring on!

Please ensure you measure accurately to avoid disappointments.

Ring sizes differ between countries - if you already know your size but need to do an international conversion use a table similar to this.

If you don't know your size you could either try this method or purchase a ring sizer.

Can I commission a custom/bespoke piece?

Please visit our Bespoke page for further information on custom pieces.

Can I have one of my Petite Lune pieces replated?

With time and normal use, gold plating will eventually wear off the jewellery surface allowing the base metal to show through.

If you'd like to consider replating your piece to give it a refresh, drop us an email or get in touch via our Contact Us form for further information.
