This particular pendant was inspired by Juliette's time spent on a jewel of the Ionian islands - Kythera. It is like a little relic from this time spent in absolute paradise.

The idea of a small amphora came naturally after visiting different museums and reading about the different objects collected. The distinctive narrow vessels, with pointed ends, were specifically designed to transport all sort of commodities - from olive oil and wine to perfumes. They were also commonly used as grave markers or vessels to hold ashes. Probably what touches us here is the multi-dimensional aspect of this object, both being a symbol of life and death.

To us, they symbolise nourishment, providing the people and their growing culture with life-affirming fuel. This tiny amphora pendant was hand sculpted from a block of wax and runs freely on a delicate Venetian box chain. There is a small opening at the mouth of the vessel, that may hold a secret note or sprig of wildflower...
