Memento Mori

'Memento mori' is a latin phrase meaning: “Remember you must die” and it refers more generally to an object kept as a reminder of the inevitability of death. The first Memento Mori pieces appeared as early as the 14th century and have traditionally almost always incorporated a skull or skeleton in their design.
