Tudor Rose
The Tudor Rose is a very famous symbol for England, and not only is it very beautiful, it is also an important part of English history.
The War of the Roses was a time of conflict between the House of Lancaster and the House of York, in a fight for power and more precisely the English throne. Though the House of Lancaster eventually triumphed, giving us King Henry VII, the House of Tudor was formed as a union of the two houses.
The Tudor rose (or Union rose) is a combination of the white rose of the House of York and the red rose of the House of Lancaster. It is a symbol of unity and peace. The rose being the national flower of England, it is also a timeless symbol of love and beauty.
We’ve kept the design very rustic-antique inspired in its simplicity, with a juicy deep claret garnet cabochon echoing the red rose. The twin roses entwine the whole band with their thorny stems and glorious blooms.
